Career Change - Midlife Crisis

Hi Classmates,

I currently live in NY and have been working in technology for about 15 years, started as a Network Technician on Wall St back in 1993, for a real-time data feed company, moved up to director of support around 1998. Was kind of bored of the putting out fires all the time, and was able to move into Project Management around 1999. For the last 9 years or so have been implementing technology projects for a few different companies, was able and enjoyed business travel.

In 2001 my project management job at deutsche bank ended due to 9/11 as we were based in the World Trade Center Tower 2, 83rd floor. After that attack I was unable to find another job for 14months, it was impossible to find employment in Technology Management at that time. When I was able to make a comeback it was for a healthcare company, much different from Wall ST, more laid back atmosphere, actually boring to be honest. I have been in healthcare now as a Technical PM for the last 5 years and I am ready for a change. I believe a complete career change, looking for something where I will wake up and have a passion for work. I just can't do it anymore for the simple pay check, I feel like this is selling my sole for the almighty dollar.

Any insight from the class would be great!
